I’ve recently been having growing pains—is that normal? When do people usually have growth spurts and how tall will I get?
Yep, growing is literally a total pain. Growth spurts can happen several times throughout this puberty journey. Your final adult height is based on your genetics, so one more thing to blame your parents for. Dr. Scott says, “boys usually have their biggest growth spurt between 12 and 15, and girls between 10 and 13. Some people are very late to the puberty game and some people are a little earlier, but growing quickly or growing slowly are both super-normal!” Growing pains are normal too, particularly around your knees and shins. They’ll go away on their own. If you’re stressed about any of this, talk to your pediatrician. And your parents, obvy.
